Package #9 Tundra Wildlife Excursion This tour provides a close-up look at the Alaska tundra and the plants and animals that make the tundra their home. Our special bush-equipped wheelplanes and floatplanes can get you away from the crowd and into Alaska’s wildest and most remote locations. Day 1: -3:30 p.m. check in at Anchorage, Merrill Field for Lake Clark scenic tour. The tour (approximately 1 hour) takes you through the scenic Lake Clark Pass, where you will see glaciers and glacial streams in one of Alaska’s most beautiful mountainous settings, ending at The Farm Lodge and Lake Clark Resort on Lake Clark. -Check in to Lake Clark Resort. Lodging includes a room with private bath, home-cooked Alaskan meals,* and daily housekeeping. Day 2: -Guided bear viewing. Travel by floatplane to a remote location where you will spend an exciting day viewing and photographing Alaska's notorious Grizzly and Brown Bears feeding and interacting in their natural environment. Our fall bear viewing takes us to remote locations where the bears have gathered to feed on a massive run of Sockeye salmon. Day 3: -Guided tundra wildlife/sightseeing tour. Our special bush-equipped wheelplane will take you over the tundra in search of caribou, other wildlife, and scenic landscape. The day includes off-airport landings for sightseeing and photography. -The end of this day will drop you off in a remote tundra area where your guide will have a camp set up for a 2-night stay, giving you a more intimate look at the Alaska backcountry. The Farm Lodge and Lake Clark Resort will provide a guide, tents, cots, sleeping bags, camp chairs, and a complete kitchen and food (to be prepared by your guide) for this portion of your stay. Day 4: -Guided hiking and wildlife viewing in remote tundra area. The Alaska tundra in provides beautiful hiking with opportunities to see caribou, ptarmigan, foxes, bears, and a variety of other wildlife. Day 5: -Guided hiking and sightseeing in remote tundra area. -3:00 p.m. pick up from remote camp and return to The Farm Lodge and Lake Clark Resort on Lake Clark. Day 6: -Local unguided hiking to the Lake Clark National Park Service Visitor's Center, Tanalian Falls, and Kontrashibuna Lake. Day 7: -9:00 a.m. check out and scenic tour (approximately 1 hour) ending at Anchorage, Merrill Field. -PRICE= $9745.00 per person (party of 2) in standard room, or $9870.00 per person (party of 2) in suite-style room.
